Coco Chanel created many inventions that are today’s wardrobe staples. Beside her famous little black dress, The Little Black Jacket, created in the ’50s, is also one of her most iconic creations. Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld decided to pay tribute to this iconic wardrobe staple in Karl’s upcoming book “The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited”.
Ever since Karl joined Chanel in 1983 he found a way to reinvent the jacket in a way that it could go with every style and every look. That’s the thing what makes this iconic jacket so unique; its versatility.

I’m a big fan of little black jackets, little black dresses, little black shoes and other little black things… like little black Dutch licorice. I really like the thing she’s wearing (Saskia) on her head, though it’s not exactly little or black. Thanks for sharing Jey ♥
Hi Anette, That thing on Saskia’s head is a head piece which is part of our Dutch traditional costumes. I guess Karl Lagerfeld found that interesting since Saskia is Dutch and each of the personalities he captured for the book had to bring something unique to the table while wearing the LBJ. Not sure if this really works… but indeed it’s not little, looks more oversized ;) haha You’re welcome ;)
