Designer Shoes FOR RENT: Christian Louboutin, Christian Dior or even Jimmy Choo?

It all started a few years ago when renting a designer bag was no longer a secret. In fact, in turned out to be a hype, especially with celebs ( of who you’d never thought of actually renting a bag when they have the money to buy a Birkin  ). Now the trend of renting designer items has gone further. As I was browsing around the net, I stumbled upon a website called Cinderella Me, where you can actually rent AUTHENTIC designer shoes like Christian Louboutins, Jimmy Choo, Christian Dior, Giuseppe Zanotti and the list goes on. The one question that immediately came up was: Now why would you rent shoes where already thousands of (smelly) feet have been in?

At Cinderella Me you can choose from 200+ authentic designs and rent them for one week ( or more ). They ship out the shoes for you and after you’ve shown them off at that red carpet event or whatever you needed them for, you just return them in the box they’ve sent you. Loubies already start at £34,95 for one week.

There’s just one catch though: In order to rent shoes from Cinderella Me, you’ll have to be a member by getting a membership of £9,95 per month.
They say it’s all hygenic and apparently it’s trending and it’s also one of the best kept secrets of celebs. For example, Keira Knightley who is no stranger to Cinderella Me.

Personally, I think; If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it, or save some extra until you actually CAN afford it. Because, once you start renting shoes you just want to keep them, so you might as well buy them.

What are your thoughts on renting designer shoes? Would you do it? And if so, why? Let me know!

NOTE: Cinderella Me only ships within the UK. But I guess more online stores will follow this “trend”.

Its all about hygiene and trust. When you got to buy a dress and you try it on, or even a bra or pants do you know how many people have tried it on, (even bought, used, kept the tag on) and returned it? People have different hygiene but most people still try on clothes. Shoes are a lot safer and if you feel very bothered about the hygiene then clean the shoe before you wear it (if it comes smelly, which I wouldnt think). I think for most it’s a great idea! Think renting a tux for example, that special event. I would only rent a shoe that I know I definetely cannot afford at the moment even if I chopped my arm off, take the likes that you see on Rihanna, Kim Kardashian or the famous StilletoMeUp on Instagram. Also, I will rent it for a VERY special occasion. Maybe prom, wedding, red carpet event, 21st birthday, e.t.c

P.S: I have a friend who got a gorgeous pair of Giuseppe’s at a bank breaking price, she’s worn them once and doesn’t know what to do with them especially as they are quite a unique colour (not black, which you can wear with everything or anytime you like)

Sorry about the long post I am doing research on this at the moment for a fashion project.Nice post though! :)
